Totally missed that NYE

Totally missed the tradition of blogging on NYE. Except I did take note on my handphone. So, this is based on the notes.

A NYE as a foreigner in a foreign land, with a group of foreign friends whom I met for the first time, and of course, the person who brought me there - my dardee. The place? Pisa Cafe, Jakarta. The language? One that I couldn't understand fully.

Honestly, it felt like, pretty much, just another day. And of course it was. Because while we were struggling to stay awake for a disorganised countdown in Jakarta, Singapore had already ushered in 2012 with all its usual television and radio celebrities out and parties of people getting messed up in foam on the beach. Time difference - just like any other day.

2011 was a pretty smooth-sailing year, on the whole. There were, of course, the occasional upsets and exasperation at work, mood changes and tiffs in the relationship, confusion and frustration at home. But, all considered, a pretty smooth year.

My hope for 2012 revolves around job stability, personal growth and more understanding and assurances in my relationship. A holiday, or two (or three...or four) will be, of course, the icing on the cake.

Cheers to 2012 and as always, cest la vie!
